Creating a Property

To create a new property, navigate to your Dashboard and click the Create New Property button in the top right. If you don't have any properties yet, you'll be redirected to the creation wizard automatically.

The wizard walks you through 7 steps. A sidebar on the left (or a progress bar on mobile) shows your current step. You can click back to any completed step at any time.

Step 1 — Property Basics

This is where you set up the core identity of your property.

AI Prefill (optional shortcut)

At the top of Step 1, an "Generate your property guide with AI" card lets you skip manual entry. Click it to open a modal where you can describe your property in plain English — for example, its name, location, door codes, WiFi credentials, amenities, and house rules. The modal shows how many AI generations you have left (e.g. 2 of 3). Click "Generate Guide" and AI will parse your description and prefill every recognizable field across all wizard steps. You'll jump straight to Step 7 (Review) where you can verify and edit anything before saving.

Property Image

Click the upload area to select a cover photo for your guide. After uploading, you can hover over the image to replace it with a new one or remove it entirely. This image appears as the hero at the top of your guide.

Property Name

Enter the name guests will see at the top of the guide (e.g. "Sunset View" or "Downtown Loft"). This is the only required field in the entire wizard — you cannot continue without it.

Welcome Message

A short greeting displayed below the property name when guests open the guide. Use it to set the tone (e.g. "Welcome to your beachside retreat").

Check-in and Check-out Time

Two time pickers for your standard check-in and check-out times. They default to 3:00 PM and 11:00 AM respectively. These are displayed to guests on the guide cover.

Location

Enter the property address or city. This appears on the guide with a map pin icon and provides a Get Directions link that opens Google Maps for the guest.

When you're done, click Continue to Arrival Instructions.

Step 2 — Arrival Instructions

Build a step-by-step sequence that tells guests exactly what to do when they arrive.

Section Title

An editable heading that appears above the steps in the published guide. It defaults to "Let's get you inside" but you can change it to anything.

Adding Steps

Click Add step to create a new instruction card. Each step has three fields:

  • Step name — a short label like "Parking", "Door Access", or "You're in!"
  • Code — an optional field for a door code, gate code, or lockbox combination
  • Description — detailed instructions for this step. You can type {code} anywhere in the description and it will be replaced with the actual code value when guests view the guide

A helpful tip box at the top explains how codes work. If you enter a code but don't use {code} in the description, a hint will remind you. If you use {code} but haven't entered a code, it will prompt you to add one.

Reordering and Removing

Drag the grip handle on the left of each card to reorder steps. Click the trash icon on the right to remove a step.

When you're done, click Continue to Comfort.

Step 3 — Warning Notice

This is an optional step for adding a prominent warning that guests should know about.

What to use it for

The in-app help card suggests uses like quiet hours, no parties, pets on site, construction nearby, or anything that could affect the guest's stay.

Fields

  • Title — a short heading (e.g. "Quiet Hours")
  • Description — a detailed explanation (e.g. "Please keep noise to a minimum between 10 PM and 8 AM")

If you leave both fields empty, no notice section will appear in the published guide.

You can click Skip to move to the next step without adding anything, or fill in the fields and click Continue.

Step 4 — WiFi

Add your network credentials so guests can connect easily.

Section Title and Description

Two editable fields that appear as the heading of the WiFi card in the published guide. They default to "Get Connected" and "High-speed internet for your stay."

Network Name (SSID)

The WiFi network name guests should connect to.

Password

The WiFi password. A show/hide toggle lets you verify what you typed. In the published guide, the password is hidden from anyone who doesn't have an active share session.

When you're done, click Continue to Amenities.

Step 5 — Amenities

Select and configure the amenities available at your property.

Pre-loaded Amenities

The wizard starts with five common amenities you can toggle on or off:

  1. Coffee Maker
  2. Smart Thermostat
  3. Hot Tub
  4. Washer/Dryer
  5. Smart TV

Click any card to select or deselect it. Only selected amenities appear in the published guide.

Adding Custom Amenities

Click the Add amenity button to create a new one. This opens an edit modal where you can configure:

  • Display Name — the amenity title (e.g. "Pool & Spa")
  • Icon — choose from 12 icons: Coffee, Thermometer, Waves, Flame, Shirt, Monitor, Bed, WiFi, Utensils, Lightbulb, Key, Music
  • Usage Instructions — a text field explaining how to use the amenity (supports multiple paragraphs)
  • Instruction Video URL — an optional YouTube or video link
  • Photo — upload an image for the amenity card

Amenity Limit

There is a per-account limit on the total number of amenities across all your properties. When you reach it, the add button shows "Amenity limit reached" with your current count.

Reordering

Drag the grip handle on the top left of each card to change the order amenities appear in the guide.

When you're done, click Review Details.

Step 6 — House Rules

Optionally add an ordered list of house rules that set expectations for guests (e.g. "No smoking", "Quiet hours after 10 PM").

Section Title

An editable heading that appears above the rules in the published guide. Defaults to "House Rules".

Adding Rules

Click Add a rule to create a new text input. Each rule is a single line of text. Rules appear as a numbered list in the published guide, ordered the way you enter them.

Removing Rules

Click the trash icon next to any rule to remove it. If you leave all rules empty, no house rules section appears in the published guide.

You can click Skip to move to the next step without adding anything, or add rules and click Continue.

Step 7 — Review & Publish

A summary view of everything you've entered, organized into six cards:

  • Property Basics — shows the cover image thumbnail, property name, location, welcome message, and check-in/out times
  • Arrival Instructions — shows the number of steps and their names in order (e.g. "2 steps: Parking → Door Access")
  • Warning Notice — shows the title and description, or "No warning notice added. (Optional)" if empty
  • WiFi — shows the network name
  • Amenities — shows how many are selected with the first three icons previewed
  • House Rules — shows the number of rules and the first three, or "No house rules added. (Optional)" if empty

Each card has an Edit button that takes you back to the relevant step.

Actions

At the bottom you have two options:

  • Save as Draft — saves the guide but keeps it private. Only you can see it. Requires at least a property name.
  • Publish Guide — saves and makes the guide live. You'll be redirected to the dashboard. A unique 8-character code is generated automatically for the guide URL.

Saving Progress

Your wizard progress is automatically saved in the browser as you fill in each field. If you leave the page and come back later, everything you entered will be restored.

Note that this is browser-local storage — your data isn't saved to your account until you click Save as Draft or Publish Guide on the final step.
