Guest GuideDocs

Building Your Guide

After creating a property through the wizard, you can continue editing your guide using the full editor. To open it, go to your Dashboard, hover over a property card, and click the pencil icon that appears in the top right corner.

The editor shows your guide exactly as guests will see it, with all sections editable inline.

Editor Toolbar

A fixed toolbar at the top of the page shows:

  • Back arrow — returns to the previous page
  • Guide name and a Draft badge (if not yet published)
  • Preview (eye icon) — opens the published guide URL in a new tab so you can see it as a guest would
  • Publish Guide button — saves all changes and publishes the guide

If you have unsaved changes, a red pulsing dot with "Unsaved changes" appears in the toolbar.

Hero / Cover Section

The top of the editor is the hero card that guests see first.

Cover Image

Click the image area to upload or replace the cover photo. When hovering over an existing image, you'll see Upload photo and Remove buttons.

Title and Subtitle

Two inline text fields at the top of the card. The title is the property name and the subtitle is a short tagline shown below it.

Check-in and Check-out Times

Compact time pickers displayed on the cover card. Guests see these prominently when they open the guide.

Property Address

An inline text field with a map pin icon. In the published guide, this becomes a clickable link that opens Google Maps directions.

Arrival Steps Section

Below the hero card, the arrival steps section shows the numbered step-by-step instructions for guests.

Section Title

An editable text field for the heading. Defaults to "Let's get you inside".

Steps

Each step is a card with:

  • Step title — an inline text input
  • Door code — an optional monospace field highlighted in amber. Sensitive content that gets masked for non-active sessions.
  • Description — a text area. Use {code} in the description to insert the door code value inline. The editor shows a hint: "[code] will appear where {code} is in the description" when both a code and the placeholder are present.

Managing Steps

  • Click Add Step to append a new step
  • Drag the grip handle to reorder steps
  • Click the trash icon to delete a step

House Rules Section

An editable card for setting guest expectations with an ordered list of rules.

Section Title

An inline text field for the heading. Defaults to "House Rules".

Rules

Each rule is a single-line text input shown with a numbered index. Click Add a rule to append a new one. Click the trash icon to remove a rule.

If all rules are removed or left empty, the house rules section will not appear in the published guide.

WiFi Section

A dark-themed card that displays WiFi credentials.

Section Title and Description

Editable heading and subtext for the WiFi card.

Network Name

The WiFi SSID guests should connect to.

Password

A password field with a show/hide toggle (eye icon). In the published guide, the password is clickable to copy and is masked when the viewer doesn't have an active share session.

Amenities Grid

A two-column grid of amenity cards (single column on mobile).

Editing an Amenity

Click the pencil icon on any amenity card to open the edit modal. The modal has four sections:

  1. Amenity Identity — display name and icon selector (12 icon options)
  2. Guide Content — usage instructions (textarea) and optional video URL
  3. Visuals — upload a photo for the amenity card
  4. Quick Access QR — after saving, shows a QR code preview with download and copy link buttons

The amenity title is also editable directly on the card without opening the modal.

Adding a New Amenity

Click the dashed Add amenity button to create a new one. This opens the same edit modal in "add" mode.

Amenity Actions

When hovering over an amenity card, three action buttons appear:

  • Copy Link (link icon) — copies the direct amenity URL (/a/[code]) to clipboard. Only available after the guide has been saved.
  • Download QR (QR code icon) — downloads a 480x480 PNG QR code for the amenity. Only available after the guide has been saved.
  • Delete (X icon) — opens a confirmation dialog before removing the amenity.

Reordering

Drag the grip handle on each card to rearrange the amenity order. The order is preserved in the published guide.

Amenity Limit

When you reach your account's amenity limit, the add button changes to show "Amenity limit reached" with your current count.

Saving and Publishing

The editor does not auto-save. You must click Publish Guide in the toolbar to save your changes. After publishing, you're redirected to the dashboard.

If you try to navigate away with unsaved changes, the red "Unsaved changes" indicator in the toolbar alerts you.
