Guest GuideDocs

Introduction

Guest Guide is a platform for short-term rental hosts to create beautiful, mobile-friendly digital property guides and share them securely with guests.

Instead of sending scattered messages with check-in codes, WiFi passwords, and appliance instructions, hosts build a single guide that covers everything a guest needs — then share it via a time-limited link that automatically expires after checkout.

Who is Guest Guide for?

Guest Guide is designed for anyone who hosts guests in a short-term rental property:

  • Airbnb and vacation rental hosts managing one or more listings
  • Property management companies overseeing multiple properties
  • Hotels and boutique accommodations that want a digital guest experience
  • Co-hosts who manage properties on behalf of owners

What does a guide include?

Every guide is built from a consistent set of sections that guests can browse on any device:

  • Property details — cover image, property name, welcome message, check-in and check-out times, and address with a link to Google Maps
  • Arrival instructions — step-by-step directions for getting inside, including door codes and parking info
  • Warning notice — an optional warning displayed prominently (e.g. "Construction nearby", "Pets on site")
  • House rules — an ordered list of rules for guests (e.g. "No smoking", "Quiet hours after 10 PM")
  • WiFi credentials — network name and password, with one-tap copy
  • Amenities — individual cards for things like coffee maker, hot tub, washer/dryer, or smart TV, each with its own instructions, photos, and optional video tutorial

How sharing works

Hosts don't give guests permanent access. Instead, they create a share session with a start and end date (typically check-in to check-out). The guest receives a link that:

  • Shows the full guide with all codes and passwords only during the active window
  • Masks sensitive content (door codes, WiFi password) before check-in and after checkout
  • Displays a status banner explaining when access will activate or that it has expired
  • Expires automatically — no need to revoke anything

Guides also have a permanent link that anyone can visit, but sensitive content is always hidden on the permanent link unless the viewer is the guide owner.

How to get started

  1. Sign in with a magic link or Google (new accounts are created automatically)
  2. Create your first property using the step-by-step wizard (or describe it in plain English and let AI prefill the details)
  3. Publish your guide
  4. Share a time-limited link with your next guest

The following sections walk through each of these steps in detail.
